Jeb Dunnuck: "From vines just south of Angélus (just 3 hectares), the 2023 Château Bellevue is all Merlot raised in 50% new oak, with a small portion in foudre. It has a great nose of ripe red and black fruits, chocolaty oak, and graphite that gives way to more spice and savory flower notes with time in the glass. Medium-bodied and balanced, with terrific concentration (especially in the vintage), this balanced, textured, impressive 2023 is worth seeking out."
