JEB DUNNUCK: "A bigger, riper, sexier wine, the 2022 Roc De Cambes just about jumps out of the glass with its exotic red and blue fruits as well as vanilla bean, sweet spice, and acacia flower-like aromas and flavors. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has beautiful tannins, plenty of mid-palate depth, and a great finish. It shows the riper, opulent style of the vintage, yet it has a core of ripe tannins and mid-palate depth that keeps it nicely focused and balanced. It's a gorgeous wine that's unfortunately hard to find in the market."
THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Deeply colored, the nose is packed with blackberries, plums, flowers, savory herbs, cigar box and espresso. Earthy, meaty, chewy, sweet, red it fruits, savory herbs and spice fill the medium-bodied mid-palate and vibrant finish. The wine blends 80% Merlot with 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. ABV 15% 3.8 pH. Drink from 2026-2040."
THE WINE ADVOCATE: "Mingling aromas of sweet cherries and cassis with notions of licorice, espresso roast and spices, the 2022 Roc de Cambes is medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with a broad-shouldered profile, framed by powdery tannins, and concluding with a chalky finish. This is always the most structured wine in the Mitjaville portfolio."
LISA PERROTTI-BROWN: „A blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2022 Roc de Cambes is deep garnet-purple in color. It sashays out with fragrant notes of Chinese five spice, sandalwood, dark chocolate, and licorice, leading to a core of plum preserves and warm cassis. The full-bodied palate is concentrated, rich, and seductive, with velvety tannins and seamless freshness, finishing with great length."
