JAMES SUCKLING: "This is crunchy and floral with crushed-berry character. Medium-bodied. The tannins are firm but lively and vibrant. Juicy finish. Orange peel."

2028 – 2042."

DECANTER: "Fresh and lively, a real brightness and high acidity to the red berry fruit from the start with a soft grip and liquorice, wet stone aspect to the tannins. Feels really well worked, a little strict and focussed right now, with some toasted spice on the finish, not so expressive, but I like the tension and drive still with lots of freshness and gentle drinking appeal. HVE certified."

LISA PERROTTI-BROWN: "Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2022 Malescasse rocks up with ready-to-rumble notes of baked plums, warm cassis, and kirsch, plus wafts of garrigue and red roses. The medium-bodied palate is laden with bright, evocative black fruits with fine-grained tannins and lovely freshness, finishing with impressive length."

THE WINE ADVOCATE: "The 2022 Malescasse is an especially strong performance, offering up aromas of plums, cassis, licorice and sweet spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, supple and seamless palate that's velvety but vibrant. From holdings on the edge of the plateau of Grands Poujeaux, this estate's proprietor replanted fully half of its vineyards upon acquiring it, and that investment is now paying dividends."
