JEB DUNNUCK: "A hidden little gem of a wine coming from vines just beside Smith Haut Lafitte, the 2022 Château Le Thil showed well. Lots of red and black currants, tobacco, chocolate, and loamy earth define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied, with a supple, balanced mouthfeel and outstanding length. The tannins here, in particular, are beautifully integrated, and this has lots to love."

DECANTER: "Vanilla, soft milk chocolate, blackcurrants, bramble fruit, some gentle perfumed aromatics. Smells richly scented, but fresh too. Succulent and mouthwatering, a real mineral salty tang hits the palate with soft powdery tannins with liquorice and bitter dark chocolate that so nicely counters the concentrated and creamy dark fruits. Leaves a clean, mineral salt flavour on the finish. Feels well constructed, supple and so easy to like, still with balance. Ageing 14 months, 30% new oak."
