FALSTAFF: "Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Zarte Kräuterwürze, dunkle Waldbeeren, ein Hauch von Orangenzesten. Saftig, rotbeerige Nuancen, gute Frische, ein Hauch von Schokolade im Abgang, balanciert, ein animierender Begleiter bei Tisch."

THE WINE ADVOCATE: "This estate has been routinely delivering excellent quality, and the 2022 Larmande is no exception, yet it still remains somewhat under the radar. Offering up aromas of sweet wild berries, plums, licorice and rose petals, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered, with a velvety attack that segues into a concentrated, vibrant core of fruit. It is sure to number among the best buys of the 2022 en primeur campaign."

LISA PERROTTI-BROWN: "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2022 Larmande prances out with fragrant notions of rose hip tea, juicy black plums, and kirsch, giving way to wafts of cinnamon toast and Sichuan pepper. The medium to full-bodied palate is soft and juicy with perfumed red and black fruit preserves and a long, fragrant finish. Nicely done!"

JAMES SUCKLING: "Linear and fine with chewy tannins that are polished and poised. It’s medium-bodied with blackberries, dark chocolate and crushed stone."

JEB DUNNUCK: "Coming from vines near Soutard and composed of 79% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc, and the balance Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2022 Château Larmande has a nicely balanced, medium to full-bodied, concentrated style revealing ample red and black fruits, some classic notes of tobacco, spring flowers, and iron, finely polished tannins, and a great finish."

DECANTER: "Potent and perfumed on the nose. Clean and fresh, a really nice easy appeal to this, silky smooth, tannins are so well integrated and this has freshness. It's missing a touch more juiciness and flesh, but really delivers an elegant, charming glass of wine that is approachable even now."

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "The nose reminds me of cooking a black raspberry crumble with butter and black cherries. The palate is packed with black cherries, red pit fruits, licorice, and chocolate. The wine is medium-bodied, fresh, sweet, and salty with lift and energy in the finish. Drink from 2025-2040."

WEINWISSER: "Delikates rotbeeriges Bouquet, getrockneter Rosmarin, Baumnuss und Johannisbeernektar. Am kompakten Gaumen mit weicher Textur, körnigem Extrakt, engmaschigem Tanninkorsett und muskulösem Körper. Im verkapselten Finale Pflaumenhaut und dunkle Mineralik gepaart mit mürber Adstringenz, aufgerundet. 2029 – 2048."
