THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Anjou pears, green apples, white flowers, honeysuckle, lemon curd, vanilla, and orange peel create the complex nose. The palate picks up where the nose leaves off with its yellow citrus, pineapple, spice, and tangerine accents. The finish balances its sweet, juicy citrus with freshness. Made from a blend of 72% Semillon and 28% Sauvignon Blanc, picking took place September 3, finishing September 10. 14.3% ABV, 3.3 pH. Drink from 2025-2040."
JAMES SUCKLING: "So much oyster shell here with a chalk, stone character, as well as dried lemons and sliced white peaches and pears. ItÔÇÖs medium to full body with lovely fruit and a flavorful finish. Bitter lemon as well. 72% semillon and 28% sauvignon blanc."
JEB DUNNUCK: "The 2022 Ch├óteau La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc is mostly S├ęmillon (72%), and compared to its big brother, the Haut-Brion Blanc, it's more closed and inward, with classic S├ęmillon power and richness. Ripe melon, white flowers, honeyed minerality, and chalky notes all define the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a great mid-palate and outstanding length. It's a downright mineral bomb on the finish and is a brilliant white in the making."
THE WINE ADVOCATE: "Perhaps it's because of the drought-affected vintage, or it could be due to the fantastic terroir of La Mission Haut-Brion, but in any case, the 2022 La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc is especially aromatically expressive, bursting with lively aromas of pear, linen, smoke, gunflint, lemon and spring flowers. Medium to full-bodied, crystalline and pure, it's tensile and seamless, with impressively vibrant acids and a saline finish."
FALSTAFF: "Helles Gelbgr├╝n, silberfarbene Reflexe. Zart rauchig-nussig unterlegte wei├če Steinobstnuancen, ein Hauch von Litschi und Stachelbeeren, Wei├če Ribiseln sind unterlegt. LISA PERROTTI-BROWN: ÔÇ×The 2022 La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc, 72% Semillon and 28% Sauvignon Blanc aging in 41.9% new oak, prances out with showy notes of orange blossoms, ripe pears, and green apples, leading to hints of elderflower and wet slate. The medium to full-bodied palate is packed with bright, expressive citrus and stone fruit layers, featuring loads of minerally sparks on the long finish."
