JAMES SUCKLING: "A focused and polished red with berry, chocolate and walnut character. Medium body. Focused center palate and a fresh finish. Coffee-bean and ripe-seed character. Vivid."

DECANTER: "Bright and forward, open and nicely detailed with plush and well textured tannins, so juicy and also plump giving a sense of bounce and real life force to this wine. A nice combination of weight, fruit, acidity and minerality leaving the finish with a salty, liquorice aspect. Has a really gentle appeal, tannins are so super fine and smooth - this has such sweet charm and delicacy while still giving a mouthful of flavour. Not overworked at all and I love the finish. Could drink this already. 3.60pH. A yield of 28hl/ha. Ageding in 30% new oak."

JEB DUNNUCK: "The 2022 Château La Chenade is a step up over the Saintayme at this point and should be terrific. Black cherries, mulberries, chocolate, and spicy, floral notes all emerge from the glass, and it's medium-bodied, with beautiful tannins and outstanding length."

LISA PERROTTI-BROWN: „La Chenade 2022 is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc and has a deep garnet-purple color. It zips out of the glass with ready-to-go notes of juicy black and red plums, boysenberries, and Indian spices, followed by hints of charcoal, iron ore, and dusty soil. The medium to full-bodied palate is plump and juicy, delivering impressive freshness and a soft texture, finishing long and lifted."

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Black plums, flowers, and cherries with a splash of cocoa create the aromatic profile. On the palate, the wine is soft, polished, and fresh, with a juiciness to the fruits, and lift in the finish. Produced from 80% Merlot with 20% Cabernet Franc.14.4% ABV, pH 3.7. Drink from 2025-2036."
