THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Dark in color, the wine pops with chocolate, licorice, black cherries, plums and flowers in the nose. Medium-bodied, round, fresh and sweet, the dark red fruits with their lush textures, lift and sucrosity create a gorgeous mouth-feel on the mid-palate and in the finish. The wine is produced from blending 75% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Franc and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon. 14.5% ABV, 3.64 pH. Drink from 2025-2045."

THE WINE ADVOCATE: "Unfurling in the glass with aromas of cherries, sweet berries and plums mingled with hints of spices and licorice, the 2022 Grand Corbin-Despagne is medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with excellent concentration, supple tannins and a bright, lively core of fruit. It's a terrific effort from this under-the-radar estate."

FALSTAFF: "Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Zart nach Nugat, reife Kirschen, feine Kräuterwürze, einladendes Bukett. Lebendig strukturierte Textur, rotbeerige Nuancen, frisch und salzig, ein angenehmer Speisenbegleiter, bereits bald zugänglich."

JEB DUNNUCK: "The 2022 Château Grand Corbin-Despagne is a pretty, floral, bright and lively 2022 that has plenty of structure on the palate. Black cherries, blueberries, and spring flowers all define the aromatics, and it has a bright, almost racy spine of acidity, quality tannins, and a great finish. It does well in the vintage and shines for its vibrancy and freshness."

LISA PERROTTI-BROWN: „Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2022 Grand Corbin-Despagne is a tad closed to start, opening out, with coaxing, to notes of prunes, blueberry preserves, and tar with hints of fertile loam, sauteed herbs, and cedar. The medium to full-bodied palate has impressive acidity and firm, grainy tannins supporting the muscular fruit, finishing earthy."
