DECANTER: "Richly scented and evocative on the nose, crystalline and pure, with fragrant and floral blue fruits and cool stoney touches. Feels well worked, tannins are beautifully integrated, plump, plush, velvety giving a serious and well-built frame but with enough freshness and acidity to keep things moving and lifted. I like this a lot, especially the florality and the juicy core. Elegant and refined with a lovely minty finish. Clearly concentrated and powerful with richness and body but with focus and such a seductive flavour and texture. 5% Cabernet Franc completes the blend. Harvest 8-23 September."

JAMES SUCKLING: "Firm and linear red with medium body and fine, sleek tannins. Juicy finish with a chalky mouthfeel. Fresh and attractive."

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Medium-bodied, silky, soft, and fresh, with layers of sweet, and savory fruits, refined textures, and elegance in the discreet finish. Drink from 2024-2040."

THE WINE ADVOCATE: "The 2022 Desmirail offers up a lovely bouquet mingling tobacco, cassis, wild berries, spices and a touch of well-integrated toasted oak, followed by a medium to full-bodied, seamless and supple palate that's fleshy and sapid, concluding with a refined finish. It’s a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc."

JEB DUNNUCK: "A medium-bodied, elegant, graceful Margaux that does well in the vintage, the 2022 Château Desmirail offers an exotic style in its red and blue fruits as well as complex notes of sandalwood, spice, and flowery incense. Medium-bodied on the palate, supple, and elegant, with nicely integrated tannins and acidity, it should shine with just short-term cellaring."

FALSTAFF: "Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Frische rote Kirschen, ein Hauch von Pflaumen, frische Orangenzesten, etwas Geranium. Mittlere Komplexität, zart nach Gewürznelken, frisch strukturiert, rotbeeriger Nachhall, dezente Süße im Nachhall."
