JAMES SUCKLING: "A solid wine with black berries and black cherries with fresh flowers and rose petals. Medium body. Bright and focused. Fine tannins. Silky."
FALSTAFF: "Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Feinwürziger Kräutertouch, rote Herzkirschen, etwas Nelken, zart rauchige Nuancen. Mittlerer Körper, rotbeerige Nuancen, dezente Tannine, frisch strukturiert, zitronig-salzig im Abgang, bereits gut entwickelt."
LISA PERROTTI-BROWN: "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2022 de Carles delivers black cherries, kirsch and warm plums notes lead to suggestions of rose oil and crushed rocks. The medium to full-bodied palate has impressive freshness and velvety tannins to support the generous black fruits, finishing long with a red berry lift. This is an 18-hectare vineyard composed mainly of clay and limestone soil. The wine is mainly aged for around 12-months in tank to preserve freshness, while 5% is aged in barrel. The blend this year is 97.5% Merlot and 2.5% Malbec."
