THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "What stands out here is the minerality, giving all the deep, ripe, sweet fruits, licorice, flowers and spice a distinctive salty edge. The wine has length, depth, and a uniqueness of character that stands out. The wine blends 50% Cabernet Franc with 50% Merlot, 14% ABV. Drink from 2027-2045."

JEB DUNNUCK: "This château has been firing on all cylinders of late, and the 2022 Clos Saint-Julien is the first vintage with the Grand Cru Classé classification. Coming from a tiny 1.42-hectare vineyard and equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the 2022 Clos Saint-Julien sports a deep purple hue as well as a brilliant bouquet of fresh cherries, cassis, violets, and black raspberries. More medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has a vibrant, crisp style, fine tannins, remarkable purity, and outstanding length. It's not the biggest or richest vintage for this cuvée, but the balance is spot-on, and this beauty shines for its seamlessness and elegance."

LISA PERROTTI-BROWN: „A blend of 50% Cabernet Franc and 50% Merlot, the 2022 Clos Saint-Julien is deep garnet-purple in color. It leaps with vibrant scents of redcurrant jelly, juicy black plums, and boysenberries, followed by hints of wild sage, graphite, and cardamom. The medium to full-bodied palate is tightly knit with red and black fruit layers, framed by firm, fine-grained tannins and beautiful tension, finishing long and savory."
