FALSTAFF: "Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Zarte Kräuterwürze, reife Herzkirschen, etwas Nugat, reife Pflaumen klingen an. Kraftvoll, Kirschen, mineralisch, straffe Tanine, opulenter, süßer Stil, würzig im Abgang, ein stoffiger Speisenbegleiter für viele Gelegenheiten."
JAMES SUCKLING: "A juicy wine with chocolate, berries and some hazelnut character. Medium body. Juicy finish. Lots of flavor. Chewy. Plenty of potential. 85% merlot and the rest cabernet franc."
DECANTER: "Fresh and lifted, a really lovely elegance to this despite clear concentration and very ripe full tannins that fill the mouth completely. Grip and tenison, a lot of life and forward motion, feels compelling and so well handled. Juicy but serious and complete, a lot to like here with linearity, compactness, detail and focus. Really great, maybe just missing a touch of acidity. But there's a lot to like here."
THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Flowers, incense, licorice, espresso, and red berries work together perfectly in the nose, and on the palate. The wine is medium-bodied, elegant, soft, and creamy in texture, finishing with silky tannins, and sweet, red fruits on the back end. Drink from 2025-2040."
JEB DUNNUCK: "The 2022 Clos Des Jacobins is an up-front, fleshy, forward barrel sample offering plenty of red and black fruits, some leafy herbs, leather, and loamy earth nuances, medium to full body, and ripe tannins in a balanced, undeniably delicious style that I suspect will drink nicely right out of the gate."
