FALSTAFF: "Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, tintig, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Tabakig, dunkle Kirschen, reife Zwetschken, etwas Nugat, ein Hauch von Edelholz. Saftig, reife Kirschen, frisch und elegant, ein saftiger Wein mit feiner Extraktsüße, delikat und lang, sehr gutes Reifepotenzial."

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "With a strong opening from its floral character, the perfume quickly moves to its black raspberry, espresso, and earthy side. The lushness in the fruits, freshness in the mid-palate, and salty, crushed stone character in the finish all work in harmony this year. This is the best vintage of Chateau Chauvin ever produced. Drink from 2026-2042."

JAMES SUCKLING: "Blueberry and blackberry character with hints of graphite and stone. Medium body. Bright finish. Focused and polished."

LISA PERROTTI-BROWN: „Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2022 Chauvin opens with a perfume of Morello cherries, juicy black plums, and dried mulberries, plus suggestions of Indian spices and unsmoked cigars. The full-bodied palate is concentrated and intense, with a lively backbone and rounded tannins, finishing on a lingering aniseed note."

JEB DUNNUCK: "Tasted on two separate occasions, with one sample showing more aggressive tannins, the 2022 Château Chauvin reveals a deep purple hue as well as a lifted, floral bouquet of red, blue, and black fruits as well as graphite, crushed stone, and iron. Medium to full-bodied, it has building tannins, good overall concentration, and outstanding length. I suspect this pretty, perfumed, exotic Saint-Emilion will round into form over the course of its élevage."
