Weinwisser: "63 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 37 % Merlot, 18 Monate in 40 % neuen Barriques. Delikates Bouquet, rote Kirsche, Preiselbeersaft und zarte Fliedernoten. Am saftigen Gaumen mit weicher Textur, herrlicher Extraktfülle, stützendem Tanningerüst und mittlerem Körper. Im gebündelten Finale mit rotbeerigen Konturen, Estragon und fein körniger Adstringenz. Sehr gut gelungen dieses Jahr!"
Dunnuck: "From an estate that was purchased in 1987 and vinified at Pichon-Longueville Baron, the 2021 Château Pibran is 63% Cabernet Sauvignon and 37% Merlot. It has pretty blue fruits as well as medium-bodied richness, fine tannins, good, if not impressive, concentration, and a great finish. Still aging in 40% new barrels, this is the real deal in 2021 and well worth seeking out."
Suckling: "A fine, spicy and polished Pauillac with a sleek and supple tannin frame. Pretty core of blue and purple fruit with some peppercorns and cloves. All in balance. 63% cabernet sauvignon and 37% merlot."
Wine Advocate: "Containing an unusually elevated 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2021 Pibran offers up aromas of dark berries, cherries, cigar wrapper and sweet soil tones. Medium-bodied, ample and lively, with powdery tannins, impressive concentration for the vintage and a penetrating finish, this is a terrific effort."
Galloni: "The 2021 Pibran is terrific. Bright and punchy, the 2021 impresses with its purity of fruit and fine overall balance. Succulent red cherry, blood orange, mint and rose petal are front and center. The 2021 is unusual in that the Cabernet is especially high. More than that, though, what impresses about the 2021 is it impeccable sense of harmony. Pibran could very well be one of the under the radar gems in 2021."
Decanter: "Gorgeously floral, so sweet and welcoming. Lightly framed, delicate but fun and playful. Smooth but also sour, the succulent and creamy chalkiness is lovely. A nice balance between the sweet fruit, the floral and the freshness. Tannins are fine and integrated with a vein of spiced minerality - really long length. It’s gentle with this depth of flavour and intensity of perfume while still being light, but the spice gives depth. A lot going on here, with licks of stone and graphite, dark chocolate and clove. Ageing 40% in new barrels and 60% from barrels of one vintage."
Falstaff: "Kräftiges Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, dezente Randaufhellung. Zart nach Preiselbeeren und roten Kirschen, ein Hauch von Orangenzesten, dezente Kräuterwürze. Saftig, rotbeerig, zarte Tannine, mineralisch-salzig im Abgang, lebendiger Speisenbegleiter."
