Galloni: "The 2021 Petit Gravet Aîné is elegant and nuanced, but it is also going to need time to fully come together. As always, the Franc is front and center. The 2021 is a bit lighter than has been the norm in the recent past, and that tends to accentuate some of the more angular contours of the Franc. At the same time, there is a feeling of transparency that is so alluring. Rose petal, blood orange, mocha, dried herbs and dark red-fleshed fruit open nicely with a bit of air. It's early days here, though. Élevage will be critical."

Neal Martin: "The 2021 Petit Gravet Ainé was cropped at 29hL/ha and contains 90% Cabernet Franc. It has a bouquet of blackberry and cassis scents, quite floral and well-defined. The palate is medium-bodied, well balanced and expresses the variety well. Fresh and saline on the finish, this comes recommended (especially if you have a penchant for Cabernet Franc)."

Wine Cellar Insider: "Savory red fruits, herbs, flowers, spice box, crushed rocks and pine create the nose. On the palate, the wine is soft, fresh, vibrant, and salty. Produced from 90% Cabernet Franc and 10% Merlot, this unique wine will be better with a few years of age. Drink from 2027-2040."
