THE WINE ADVOCATE: "The 2021 Le Gay offers up aromas of cherries and berries mingled with aromas of mint, vanilla pod and creamy new oak. Full-bodied, layered and fleshy, it's rich and layered, with a fleshy core of fruit framed by plenty of extract and oak tannin. It's entirely fermented in new barrels, which has become one of the estate's signatures."

DECANTER: "Scented raspberries and cherries with soft floral touches on the nose. A gentle succulence, but the minerality, liquorice, slate and clove are to the very fore. Robust tannins coat the mouth, a little harsh and firm at the moment. I do like the overall mouthfeel at the beginning, this has character and is serious in its fleshy structure. Well worked with a youthful charm that will benefit from ageing."
