Suckling: "Plum and berry with pretty fruit in the center palate. Medium body. Round and juicy."
Galloni: "The 2021 La Pointe is a very pretty, expressive wine. Cabernet Franc seems to drive the balance, especially in the wine's aromatic profile. Red fruit, mocha, sage, mint and blood orange build nicely in the glass. Medium in body, yet persistent and with fine tannins, La Pointe is impeccably balanced. There's quite a bit of promise here."
Weinwisser: "82 % Merlot, 18 % Cabernet Franc, 13 Vol.-%, (- 25 % aufgrund schlechter Blüte). Delikates Bouquet, frischgepflückte Schattenmorelle, getrockneter Rosmarin, zarter Iris-Duft und rote Johannisbeerdrops. Am eleganten Gaumen mit weicher Textur, nerviger Rasse, engmaschigem Körper. Im sehr präzisen, fein aromatischen Finale rote- und blaue Beeren, helles Graphit und fein sandige Adstringenz. Fast auf dem gleichen Niveau wie letztes Jahr."
Wine Advocate: "A blend of 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc, the 2021 La Pointe exhibits aromas of sweet berries, plums, licorice and raw cocoa, followed by a medium-bodied, supple and elegant palate built around tangy acids and fine, powdery tannins. An elegant, fine-boned interpretation of Pomerol, this historic 23-hectare vineyard is benefiting from improved viticulture and later picking."
Decanter: "Nuanced nose of black fruits and perfume, very pretty and appealing. Round and unctuous on the palate, but not so big or bold, more refined and stylish. Very charming with the perfume really evident on the palate, so floral. The fruit has energy and this is nicely chewy with good acidity. Everything in balance, just lightly presented. It's calm but confident, not trying too hard with many appealing aspects."
Neal Martin: "The 2021 La Pointe underwent short pumpovers to enact a gentle extraction and matured in 50% new oak. It has a light but well-defined bouquet with graphite infused red fruit (that trait is accentuated in a bottle tasted at the château). Quite elegant in style. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins, pretty red fruit and just a touch of piquancy on the finish. It is a Pomerol that keeps within its means and does not try to overdo itself, making it a better wine that should gain substance in barrel:"
Wine Cellar Insider: "Medium-bodied, fresh, bright and focused on its floral and red fruit character, the wine is soft, vibrant and fresh, leaving you with loads of sweet, fresh, ripe red berries with a touch of cocoa and earth in the finish. The wine is a blend of 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2023-2037."
Falstaff: "Dunkles Rubingranat, tiefer Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Zart nach Kokos und Vanille, dunkle Kirschfrucht, mit dezenter Kräuterwürze unterlegt. Mittlerer Körper, zart nach Pflaumen, gut integrierte Tannine, etwas Nougat im Abgang, bietet unkompliziertes Trinkvergnügen."
