JAMES SUCKLING: "This is very beautiful for the vintage, with blackberry and blueberry aromas. Medium body, a pretty center palate and green-olive and spice character at the finish. Wonderful depth and length for the vintage. 91% merlot and 9% cabernet franc."

THE WINE ADVOCATE: "From a 4.5-hectare vineyard on the plateau of Pomerol adjacent to Le Pin and one of La Fleur-Pétrus's parcels, the 2021 La Croix St Georges offers up pretty aromas of cherries, raspberries, rose petals and violets, framed by a discreet patina of spicy new oak. Medium-bodied, ample and fleshy, with supple tannins and a lively spine of acidity, it's a charming, characterful middleweight from a prime terroir."

WEINWISSER: "Intensives leicht marmeladiges Bouquet, roter Johannisbeernektar, Himbeerkonfitüre und getrocknete Rosenblätter. Am eleganten Gaumen mit fein spröder Textur, nerviger Rasse, sehnigem Körper. Im gebündelten Finale rotbeerige Konturen, Wacholder, helles Edelholz und stützendes Graphit. Fällt im Vergleich zu den Vorjahren leicht ab."

DECANTER: DECANTER: Sweet and succulent with a sourness too, fruit forward and really quite lively in the glass. Playful yet also with a serious tone and strict backbone, minerality and toasted spice propping up the fruit and driving it forward. Good complexity on show, I like the different elements and the juiciness throughout - quite a joy to drink this and I love the lick of crushed stone all the way through."
