Chateau Doisy Daene 2021

Galloni: "The 2021 Doisy-Daëne is fabulous. Sweet floral notes, orchard fruit, mint and passionfruit all lend notable flavor intensity. The 2021 is rich and unctuous, but not at all heavy. It is a fabulous example of both the château and vintage."

Suckling: "Lots of spicy character with dried apple and tarte tatin. Caramel, too. Full-bodied and medium-sweet with an intense finish. Powerful. Best ever?"

Decanter: "Wildflower notes with green apple and lime zest on the nose. Freshness and livelines on the palate, this has an immediate appeal in terms of being bright and playful as well as having that core of caramelised oranges, dried yellow raisins, yellow plums, crunchy green apple and lemon zest. I love the clarity and the execution here with tangy acidity that makes the mouthwater and want more."

Neal Martin: "The 2021 Doisy-Daëne was quite closed on the nose and demanded coaxing, eventually revealing light honey, pressed flowers, red apple and light oily scents. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity and good concentration. Maybe not the most complex Doisy-Daëne in recent years, but taut and very focused on the finish. Excellent."

Falstaff: "Helles Grüngelb, Silberreflexe. Zarte Botrytiswürze, nach Safran und Honig, frische Birnenfrucht, zarte Holznuancen. Kraftvoll, weißer Pfirsich, gute Frische, feine Säurestruktur, angenehmer Honignachhall, mineralisch im Rückgeschmack, bereits entwickelt."

Robinson: "Light dusty/powderiness on the nose. Glorious botrytis notes. Real tingle and lots of rigour. The sweetness is the least of its characteristics. This is noble, classic wine that has a note of top-quality salami about it, strange to say. Long. Drink 2028 - 2048."
