Dunnuck: "The 2021 Clos Saint-Julien is equal parts Cabernet Franc and Merlot that's resting in 60% new French oak. It's a concentrated, medium to full-bodied, beautifully textured barrel sample offering plenty of black cherry and mulberry fruits, ripe, polished tannins, good mid-palate depth, and lots of floral and chalky nuances on the palate. Hitting 14% alcohol, it's another terrific effort from this estate that will deliver the goods."

Galloni: "The 2021 Clos Saint-Julien emerges from a tiny 1.2 hectare parcel in the center of Saint-Émilion. Proprietor Catherine Poupon-Nouvel has crafted a stylish, caressing wine that captures the character of the year so well. Dark purplish fruit, rose petal, spice, lavender and blood orange open gently. This is a pretty understated vintage for Clos Saint-Julien, but the balance is there. I especially like the energy."
