Falstaff: "Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Schwarze Kirschen, zarte tabakige Nuancen, ein Hauch von Brombeerkonfit, mineralischer Touch. Saftig, elegant, ein Hauch von Zwetschken, feine Fruchtsüße, reife, gut integrierte Tannine, ausgewogen, ein Hauch von Nougat im Nachhall, bereits gut entwickelt."

Neal Martin: "The 2021 Branas Grand Poujeaux was picked from September 29 to October 13
at 38hL/ha and includes some whole-cluster addition; it was matured in 50%
new oak. The well-defined bouquet features blackberry, raspberry, white pepper
and a hint of undergrowth. The palate is medium-bodied with a spicy entry and
gentle grip, the whole bunch working well here, and quite saline on the finish.
Excellent."

Suckling: "A medium-bodied red with firm, fine and textured tannins. Nice minerality to this, with gravel and black-tea notes. Blackberry and pencil lead, too. Firm finish. Nicely done for the vintage."

Decanter: "Perfumed blackcurrants and hints of dark chocolate powder on the nose. Beautiful, silky texture, smooth and satisfying. A delicious balance of just-crunchy fruit with fine yet plump tannins giving a round mouthful. Cooling elements come in on the mid-palate, alongside liquorice, clove, cedar and mint, to give frame, spice and freshness. Acidity is well balanced and this has lots of energy to it. A success in 2021 - a wine with mass appeal."

Galloni: "The 2021 Branas Grand Poujeaux is a dense, potent wine that has the potential to be a Sleeper in this vintage. Inky dark fruit, chocolate, cloves and licorice are pushed forward. There's not a ton of subtlety here, that is certain, but this flamboyant Moulis is pure seduction."
