Dunnuck: "Still aging in new barrels, the 2021 Château Badette (75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot) is one of the bigger, richer wines in the vintage, yet it still plays in the fresher, elegant end of the spectrum. Lots of red and blue fruits, background oak, medium to full-bodied richness, and a ripe, rounded, opulent mouthfeel all define this charming, forward, undeniably delicious 2021. It's going to drink nicely right out of the gate. Harvest here took place on the 8th of October, with healthy yields of 40-hectoliters per hectare, malolactic fermentation occurred in barrels, and it will spend 18 months in oak. Tasted numerous times."

Wine Cellar Insider: "Chocolate-covered black cherries, licorice, flowers, espresso and spice are found in the nose and on the soft, round, plush and polished, fruity palate. Drink from 2023-2039. 91-93"

Galloni: "The 2021 Badette is one of the more flamboyant wines readers will come across in this vintage. Super-ripe blackberries, blueberry jam, sweet oak and spice are all amplified in the glass. The style is all built on overtness, and it works well."

Neal Martin: "The 2021 Badette, owned by Belgian Marc-André Vandenbogaerde, has
uncomplicated blackberry, briar and cedar scents on the fragrant and
appealing nose. The palate is medium-bodied with juicy tannins, fleshy and
ripe, leading to a lovely, caressing, cherry-tinged finish. Maybe early-drinking,
yet quite seductive. A great success in a challenging season."

Suckling: "A medium-bodied red with fresh acidity, citrus and stone. Juicy and savory."
