JAMES SUCKLING: "A solid and rich red with blackberry, currant and lemon peel aromas. Medium to full body. Chewy and solid tannins. 54% cabernet sauvignon, 38% merlot, 5% cabernet franc, 3% petit verdot."
DECANTER: "A dark nose, rich and ripely scented with dark fruits, blackcurrants, damsons and herbal accents. Lean and taught, a nice structure, clean and well presented, sleek but nicely textured with grippy, stoney tannins that coat the mouth. Structured and intense but also linear and streamlined with mouthwatering acidity offsetting the density and giving an appealing push of energy. Nice balance of quality and value. First vintage since the Casteja family bought the estate in June 2022. Harvest 16 September-4 October. Yield of 19.9hl/ha. Ageing in French oak for 14 months, 30% new. 3% Petit Verdot completes the blend. Tasted twice."
