JAMES SUCKLING: "This is savory and crunchy with dark berries and chocolate. Medium to full body. The tannins are finely polished and sleek, but with volume and persistence. Great length. Wow. Could be best ever."

JEB DUNNUCK: "The 2022 Château Lucia should be terrific. It’s another impressive Saint-Emilion in the vintage that brings terrific depth of fruit and concentration while staying lively and balanced. Almost all Merlot, it has juicy redcurrant and black raspberry-like fruits, some incense, floral, and exotic spice-like nuances, medium to full body, and nicely integrated, supple tannins."

LISA PERROTTI-BROWN: „The 2022 Lucia, 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, is deep garnet-purple in color. A little muted to start, it soon unfurls to offer a pretty perfume of wild blueberries, Morello cherries, and violets, plus hints of cardamom and clove oil. The full-bodied palate has a solid structure of ripe, round tannins and compelling tension to support the generous fruit, finishing long and fragrant."

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Incense, spice, smoke, cocoa, licorice ,and red pit fruits are found in the nose, and on the palate. The medium-bodied wine is soft, supple, and creamy with ripe, black cherries, espresso, and licorice on the mid-palate and in the lush finish. The wine is a blend of 90% Merlot with 10% Cabernet Franc, 14% ABV. Drink from 2025-2037."

FALSTAFF: "Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Reife schwarze Kirschen, ein Hauch von Pflaumen, Noten von Kräutern und Schokolade. Komplex, saftig, kraftvoll, reife Kirschen, dezente Säurestruktur, mineralisch, Anklänge von Holzwürze im Abgang."
