JAMES SUCKLING: "A medium-to full-bodied St.-Emilion with velvety and supple tannins. Perfumed notes of sandalwood, raspberries, blackberries and pine cones. Pretty finish. Nicely done."

THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "With a good depth of color the wine is round, supple, fresh and loaded with dark, lush, polished, black plums, licorice and chocolate covered cherries. Drink from 2024-2040."

THE WINE ADVOCATE: "Whereas La Bienfaisance comes from clay-rich soils, the 2021 Sanctus derives from limestone. Mingling aromas of dark berries with notions of loamy soil, petals and spices, it's medium to full-bodied, ample and seamless, with lively acids and a mineral finish."

WEINWISSER: "Intensives blaubeeriges Bouquet, Schattenmorellen, betörender Iris- Duft, Holunder. Am eleganten Gaumen cremige Textur, feinkörniges Extrakt, stützende Rasse, engmaschiges Tanningerüst. Im Finale schwarzbeerige Konturen, dunkles Graphit und zarte Adstringenz. Ein Wein, den es zu beobachten gilt."

DECANTER: "Amazing nose - sweet, savoury, perfumed and floral; so much going on. Instant cool blue fruit, succulent blueberries and plums with salty stone edges, but all delivered in a straight line so you get precision, direction and tension. It's linear and focused, and I love the strictness. Feels carefully controlled, quite a serious style with intensity of fruit, freshness and distinction - just biding its time."
