|91 FALSTAFF: "Tiefunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, breitere Randaufhellung. Reife Cassisnuancen, floraler Touch von kandierten Veilchen, feine Edelholzwürz, einladendes Bukett. Mittlerer Körper, mineralisch, reife Pflaumenfrucht, integrierte Tannine, bleibt haften, ein vielseitiger Speisenbegleiter."
91 DECANTER: "Owner Christian Destieux has certainly not given in to fashion and has kept his foot on the pedal here. It´s a good wine but it is big, with notes of liquorice, slate, pencil lead and ripples of brambly black fruits, alongside clear freshness. He has walked the line and done a good job of harnessing the succulence of the vintage. You´ve got to admire him for his consistency."
92-93 JAMES SUCKLING: "A solid young red with blackberry and blueberry character, medium to full body, firm and chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Very structured."
93-95 JEB DUNNUCK: "The 2018 Château Destieux showed brilliantly and is a classic, elegant Saint-Émilion that does everything right. Beautiful cassis, sweet cherries, flowers, and spice notes give way to a medium to full-bodied, seamless 2018 that has beautiful integration of its fruit, acidity, and tannins, a layered texture, and a great finish. It´s not a blockbuster, but with its thrilling purity and already complex style, it’s hard to resist. The blend is 66% Merlot, and 17% each of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, aging in new French oak. Tasted twice."
