91-93 THE WINEADVOCATE: "The 2019 Clos Marsalette has a deep garnet-purple color, revealing notes of crushed red and black currants, candied violets and pencil shavings on the nose, followed by hints of garrigue, tilled soil and crushed rocks. The medium-bodied palate is delicately played with loads of fragrant earth accents to the red and black fruit flavors, framed by grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing savory."

92 FALSTAFF: "Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, dezente Randaufhellung. Feine reife Pflaumen-Kirsch-Frucht, zarte Kräuterwürze, kandierte Orangenzesten, einladendes Bukett. Saftig und süß, reife Tannine, zarter Schokoladeanklang, kraftvoll, würzig und anhaftend, ein unkomplizierter Speisenbegleiter, mineralisches Finale."

17,5 WEINWISSER: "50?% Merlot, 49?% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1?% Cabernet Franc, 54?hl/ha. Tiefes Purpur mit satter Mitte. Herrlicher Waldbeercocktail, dahinter Schokopastillen und Lakritze. Am molligen Gaumen mit seidiger Textur, stützendem Tannin; zarte kernige Noten aufkommend. Im aromatischen Finale schwarzbeerige Konturen und Brasiltabak. Hat bewusst eine schlankere Variante als im vergangenen Jahr gewählt."

92 DECANTER: "A consistently successful Neipperg wine in Pessac, bringing some of his signature glamour to the Left Bank. This is a big shouldered wine, feels fairly high in alcohol and not one that you are going to ignore. I wonder if this style does better on the limestones of St Emilion where there is greater natural acidity as a counterbalance, but no question that this has plenty of texture and swagger."

92-93 JAMES SUCKLING: " This shows ripeness and intensity with chocolate, spice and walnut character. It’s full-bodied with round, juicy tannins. Wet-earth and mushroom undertones."

91-93 ANTONIO GALLONI: "The 2019 Clos Marsalette is a muscular wine. A blast of dark cherry, plum, gravel. Smoke, licorice, spice and wild flowers make a strong opening statement. I especially admire how the 2019 builds over time. This is a decidedly virile style, though a measure of patience will likely be required."

91-93 THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER: "Black, red and blue fruit, smoke and spice create the nose. Medium-bodied, elegant, fresh and vibrant, with supple tannins, silky textures, freshness and polished sweet fruits in the finish. The wine was made from a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 49% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc."

93 FALSTAFF: "Helles Gelbgrün, Silberreflexe. Zarte weiße Tropenfrucht, ein Hauch von frischer Birne, Nuancen von Orangenzesten, mineralischer Touch. Komplex, saftig, feine weiße Birnenfrucht, angenehmer Säurebogen, harmonisch, bleibt gut haften, ein stoffiger Speisenwein mit Entwicklungspotenzial."

17,5 WEINWISSER: "Helles Gelb mit zarten grünen Reflexen. Reifes Bouquet mit Jonagold, Quittengelee und Grünteeextrakt. Am saftigen Gaumen mit edler Struktur, reifem Extrakt und perfekt stützender Rasse. Im gebündelten Finale eine zarte Rauchnote vom Barriqueausbau, Zitrusfrüchte und Melisse. Toller Wert!"

91 DECANTER: "As with the red this has trademark glamour and a creamy texture. It works extremely well, giving a white that has lift and freshness but also depth and a round mouthfeel that makes it easy to love."

92-93 JAMES SUCKLING: "Attractive clarity to this white with sliced green-apple, lemon-tart and white-peach character. It’s full-bodied, but comes in tight, bright and lively at the end."

90-92 ANTONIO GALLONI: "The 2019 Clos Marsalette Blanc was picked from 12-14 September at 56hl/ha and matured in 30% new oak. This offers seductive aromas of passion fruit and orange pith and hints of Mirabelle in the background. The palate is well balanced with tangy orange zest and a touch of quince on the entry. Impressive weight here, more tropical in tone compared to the d´Aiguilhe Blanc, though that is because of the 47% Sémillon lending fatness on the finish. One to age." - Neal Martin

90-92 ANTONIO GALLONI: "The 2019 Clos Marsalette Blanc is super-distinctive. Fresh and taut on the palate, the 2019 offers up a whole range of tropical inflections that are so appealing. A hint of lime, jasmine and mint leaves a Riesling-like note on the creamy, inviting finish. This is such an attractive white."

Creamy, round and lush in texture, the wine balances between sweet, ripe and fresh, with yellow and orange citrus notes in the finish. The wine blends equal parts of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc."
