* 88 - 91 WINESEPCTATPR: "Chewy and rich, with dried fruits and fresh herbs. Full and chewy. Lacks some middle palate."
* 18 WEINWISSER
* 90 QUARIN: "Personal favorite. My best rating ever given to this wine during futures campaigns; Dark, intense, purple color. Lovely fine nose, fruity, pure, ripe, subtle and aromatic. Superb mouth where the wine melts, glides. caresses and offers a quality of fruit with a vividness superior to numerous competitors. Ethereal structure, subtle, smooth, finishing on body and tannins completely margalien. This wine is strictly unspittable. Lots of personality." |

* 88 - 90 Robert Parker THE WINE ADVOCATE und SLEEPER OF THE VINTAGE: "A consistently well-made effort, the 2009 Clos du Jaugueyron reveals deep fruit, nearly outstanding concentration, good elegance, and plenty of pure plum, black currant, licorice-infused fruit intertwined with a hint of minerality. The alcohol is surprisingly modest (for the vintage) at 12.5%. Consume this lovely Haut-Medoc over the next 15 years. (Tasted once.)"
* 17 WEINWISSER
* 93+ JANE ANSON The New Bordeaux: "An attractive bright primeur purple. This is so different from the turbo-charged 2009s. Still richly fruity, but with elegance and restraint, and utterly delicious, lip-smacking, mouth-watering levels of acidity. Just lovely."
* 87 - 88 QUARIN: "My best rating ever given to this wine during futures campaigns. This wine is unquestionably one of the references in Haut Médoc. The vines are worked organically with much care by Mr. Theron. Note that Mr. Theron sells Haut Médoc and Margaux under the same name. A right granted given the small area of Margaux.
Lovely, dark, intense color. Nose fine, fruity, ripe and creamy. Mouth juicy. silky and smooth, with good fullness. Finish supple with hidden tannin and rather fine grain. It is quite difficult to spit out! Very good length. 2009 is the greatest vintage for this estate." |
