 Welch ein Name, welch ein Besitzer! Trotanoy gehört wie Petrus und La Fleur Petrus J.P.Moueix. Interessant ist hier wie bei Petrus, dass es nicht nur kleine Erträge und 100% neues Holz sind, die zum Erfolg führen. Die Erträge auf Trotanoy liegen bei moderaten aber nicht sensationellen 35 Hektoliter pro Hektar, und nur 2/3 der Barriques werden jährlich erneuert. Wiederum eine Bestätigung der Theorie, dass große Weine nur auf großem Terrain und nicht im Keller entstehen. Das Terrain von Trotanoy ist exzeptionell. 80% der Cuvée bestehen aus Merlot (10% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon) und wenn hier in einem Jahrgang alles paßt, erhalten Sie einen Petrus zum Viertel Preis! Zu bekommen ist er aber deshalb keinen Deut leichter. Wer aber jemals die Ehre hatte, alte Trotanoys trinken zu dürfen, weiß, dass es den Aufwand lohnt.

92-95 WINE SPECTATOR: "A mouthfilling red, with crushed cherry, plum and raspberry fruit all rolled together and liberally laced with anise and roasted apple wood. There´s lots of grip, but this is still harmonious through the finish. One of the more backward wines of the vintage, with an obvious tannic spine that needs some time to soften. Tasted non-blind."
18 RENE GABRIEL: "Sattes Purpur-Granat, dicht in der Mitte, lila Schimmer aussen. Kleine reife Waldfrüchte, Preiselbeeren, ein ganz feiner Hauch
Grenadine, Tabak, viel Lakritze und dunkles Malz, zeigt eine geniale, parfümierte Süsse bei momentan mittlerem Druck. Im Gaumen saftig und
erstaunlich präsent, angenehmes Extrakt mit jetzt viel pflaumigen Noten, eine Nuance Earl-Grey-Tee im langen Finale."
17,5 **** DECANTER: "Dominated the JP Moueix tasting. Complex, savoury nose. Rich, pure-fruited palate with good depth, firm, ripe tannins and minerally freshness."
91-93 PARKER: "A big, virile, masculine-styled wine, the 2011 Trotanoy is one of the more concentrated efforts of the vintage. Some rugged tannins are still present, but the wine possesses a dense plum/purple color as well as lots of damp earth, truffle, black currant and black cherry fruit. Ripe and medium to full-bodied with impressive intensity, depth and length, it will benefit from 3-5 years of cellaring and should drink well over the following two decades. Bravo!" |
