 Wenn Sie noch nie auf Le Pin waren, verschwenden Sie keine Sekunde das Chateau zu finden. Unscheinbarer geht es wohl kaum, eine gewisse Absicht sei den Besitzern unterstellt. Dieser Urahn der Garagenweingüter gleicht wohl eher einem dem Verfall verschriebenen Bahnhof im tiefsten Ostblock als einem Chateau in Pomerol. Die Familie Thienpoint, Besitzer des unweit gelegenen Vieux Chateau Certan, kaufte erst 1979 die kleine, lediglich 2 Hektar große Parzelle, die zu 92% mit Merlot bestockt ist (8% Cabernet Franc). 600 Kisten resultieren aus einer rigorosen Selektion. 100% neue Barriques kommen zum Einsatz. Wenn Sie einmal den spartanischen Keller gesehen haben, werden Sie realisiert haben, das hier keine Hightec Schmiede am Werk ist, sondern absolut traditionelles Winemaking.

93-96 WINE SPECTATOR: "Delivers dark, captivating black tea, fig and plum notes, with nicely rounded flesh and a long, smoldering feel. The tannins sneak up slowly but are prevalent in the end, with a loamy hint emerging steadily through the finish, which opens slowly and forcefully. This is very solid and among the top wines of the vintage. Tasted non-blind."
19 RENE GABRIEL: "Hatte noch selten eine so tiefe Farbe bei einem Le Pin bei der Fassprobe. Extrem dunkles Purpur mit lila und violetten Reflexen. Süsses Bouquet, Amarenatöne, dunkle Röstnoten, Edelhölzer, Tabak, kandierte Frucht, Himbeermark, gemahlene Haselnüsse. Dichter Gaumen, viel
veloursartiger Stoff, wirkt ziemilch konzentriert und hat eine fein pfeffrige, sensationell stützende Säure, kompakter, stoffiger Körper, nachhaltiges
Finale. Die Süsse und die Säure klingen lange nach und geben dem Finale so ein polarisierenden, aber auch verspielten Sweet-and-Sour Nachklang.
Gehört zu den allerbesten Pomerols."

94-96 PARKER: "Coming in at 13.3% natural alcohol, this 2011 is a blockbuster Pomerol revealing loads of black currant, kirsch, and raspberry fruit intermixed with hints of licorice, spring flowers and spicy, smoky oak. As always, there is an exoticism to this dense purple-colored offering, and its opulence and flamboyance are hard to resist. This stunningly proportioned, flamboyant Pomerol is somewhat atypical for the vintage. It should drink well for 15+ years.." |
