91-94 WINE SPECTATOR: "Sleek and racy, with no angles, as boysenberry and raspberry fruit courses along nicely, supported by light charcoal and ganache shadings on the finish. Yet this is showing its wood today, even though Moueix uses just one-third new oak, and this particular sample is noticeably darker in profile than most others in the vintage. Tasted non-blind."
18 RENE GABRIEL: "Sattes Purpur-Granat, dicht in der Mitte, lila Schimmer aussen. Phänomenales Bouquet, die Kombination Merlot und Cabernet Franc
erinnert mich hier an kürzlich getrunkene, ganz grosse Malbec´s von Catena Zapata aus Argentinien. Florales Nasenbild, Cassis und Brombeerblüten,
just fermentierte Schwarzteeblätter, sehr vielschichtig. Samtig, seidig, elegant, alles ist ganz fein nuanciert und die verloursartigen Tannine geben sich
mild und gütig im Cambertin-haften Kleid. Wenn er noch etwas mehr Druck aufbaut bis zu Flaschenfüllung (das Muster war ohne Vin de Presse),
dann liegt sehr schnell noch ein Punkt mehr drin."
17 **** DECANTER: "Good depth and concentration for the vintage. Layered dark fruit (blackcurrant) with a hint of spice. Recognizable power and volume but in a lower register."
92-94 PARKER: "One of the superstars of the vintage, this blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc smelled and tasted better than the great Petrus. A stunning opaque ruby/purple color is followed by aromas of spring flowers, black raspberries and licorice. This opulent, velvety textured, full-bodied wine possesses dazzling concentration, adequate acidity and a long finish. What a brilliant effort." |
