 Chateau Gloria ist lediglich ein Cru Bourgeois. Ein großer Vorteil für die Konsumenten, denn die Preise für Gloria sind, trotz der unbestritten hohen Qualität der Weine, äußerst fair. Trotzdem ist es ein trauriges Beispiel, wie wenig aussagekräftig das Klassemenet von 1855 ist. Im Durchschnitt verlassen alljährlich 20.000 Kisten das Chateau. Die Weine zeichnen sich durch relativ frühe Genußphase, aber trotzdem lange Haltbarkeit aus. 50 Hektar umfasst das Chateau, welche mit 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, und 5% Petit Verdot bepflanzt sind.

89-91 PARKER: "This estate continues to go from strength to strength. Another sleeper of the vintage, the 2011 is excellent, possibly outstanding. Its dense ruby/purple color is followed by abundant aromas of cassis, forest floor, tobacco leaf and a vague hint of oak. Ripe for the vintage with excellent texture, a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel and a delicious, savory, broad appeal, this wine should drink well for at least a decade. Kudos to Jean-Louis Triaud, who seems to be doing better with this estate and his neighboring St.-Pierre than his beloved Bordeaux football team." |
