93-96 WINE SPECTATOR: "This isn´t shy, with densely layered apricot, almond cream, ginger and toasted brioche notes all rushing along, while quince and creamed melon hang in the background. The long finish has nice underlying zip.?"
18 ***** DECANTER: "Fleshy and dense, this is a concentrated style with notes of sweet pineapple and dried mangos. Its density is well balanced by acidity and the finish is very long. A lot of promise in this wine when it loses its baby fat."
92-94 PARKER: "The fabulous Clos Haut Peyraguey has a slightly pinched nose that unwinds nicely in the glass to reveal a patina of mineral-rich, lightly botrytized fruit almost pixellated in clarity. The palate is medium-bodied with a waxy texture upon the entry. It is very harmonious, although at this early stage the creamy new oak is just a little dominant and detracts from its tension. However, I am convinced that this will be fully assimilated by the time of bottling and the complexity and harmony of this Sauternes cannot be avoided. I would afford it more bottle age than other Sauternes." |
