17 RENE GABRIEL: "Mitteldunkles Gelb, somit recht intensiv, leuchtender Rand. Süsses Bouquet, Feuersteinduft, Mirabellen, getrocknete Kamille, zarte
93-96 WINE SPECTATOR: "Remarkably knit and defined already, with bright, mouthwatering peach, apricot, persimmon and piecrust flavors. Long and pure. A beautiful wine. Good to see this estate back in the action. It made a terrific 2001, but has been quiet lately."
18 **** DECANTER: "Generous, rich, concentrated palate with sweet marmalade and crème caramel flavours. Sweet but not cloying. Fairly long with wonderful acidity. A great value Sauternes."
90-92 PARKER: "The 2011 Caillou has a light nose of lime cordial and freshly cut Satsumas, and it grows in stature with aeration to reveal subtle tropical notes. The palate is medium-bodied with a viscous entry that is cut through by a silver thread of acidity, rendering the residual sugar barely perceptible. It is extremely taut and focused with a very precise finish. This Barsac second growth has good potential and should drink well over twenty years. Drink 2013-2030." |
